Michael, whether or not DACA is determined to be illegal, through DACA, the US government invited Dreamers into the mainstream of American society, and hundreds of thousands of people structured their lives around the opportunity afforded them through DACA. They also are people who could not in any way be held culpable for coming to or remaining the USA illegally.

If forced to return to their native lands, Dreamers could return to a country with which they are totally unfamiliar and may not even speak the language. America should not define itself in such a mean-spirited way.

Liatris, I appreciate what you’re saying. There’s just been so much abuse of our laws, and the damage so significant. Many sides to the conversation about it. You see some of these people burning the American flag, protesting in Spanish — not English. You see this entitlement attitude, rather than, look, we know we’re here illegally — and start from that place, rather than ‘we have rights.’

There was an interesting article I read a few days ago. Compared today’s blacks who want reparations, even so many years later, because their distant relatives were slaves. They want today’s whites — who had nothing to do with it — to suffer for acts of their distant relatives.

And those whites then were obeying the law. Like it or not, slaves were legal. It was the law. Wrong in hindsight, but the law. Those whites weren’t breaking laws. Perhaps moral codes and simply decent behavior toward another human. But at the time, those whites were within their legal rights.

Now 150 years later, blacks want whites today, to pay them for actions of those whites, which were legal at the time.

Contrast with Mexicans today.

The acts of their parents WERE illegal. Their parents broke the law to be here. The situations are created by illegal acts in the first place, of their parents. And we’re supposed to basically ignore what they did, and reward them for it, essentially.

Whites today are supposed to pay blacks to somehow ‘repair’ today’s blacks, for the legal actions of slave owners at the time. Had owning slaves been illegal, one might have the thinnest grounds for even suggesting reparations. And it would be very thin.

These Mexican parents did break the law. And now we are to essentially pay THEM for breaking the law!

I do understand compassion. Believe me, I am a compassionate man. But the laws have been subverted, destroyed, ignored, disrespected. And when I see these children — not so young — burning American flags, and protesting loudly about their rights … well, these aren’t the people I think who add to America. These are angry people who think they’re entitled, who burn the flag and disrespect the people of this country. AND they want to bring in more. There’s no end. it’s a situation of taking, and wanting and demanding more. these people undermine America even further.

Who cares. They are STILL illegal. They are breaking the law every second they are on U.S. soil. An American in the same situation could not demand the same rights in Mexico as these illegals are doing here.

And they’ve had ample time to apply for legal citizenship, but they’ve chose to remain as illegals.

They don`t like the law that says it`s a crime to enter your home and will sue anyone who tries to stop them. Your logic is illogical.
