Sharia Walmart: Florida Walmart store “unable” to enlarge Muhammad cartoon, forwards it to local sheriff

90

I received this disturbing email from Gerald Lostutter, a longtime Geller Report reader in Florida. He wanted to present a framed Muhammad cartoon to local ACT chapter leader Roger Gangitano, but Walmart made it difficult:

An example of defacto Sharia law in the USA:

Wal-Mart’s photo department was unable to properly enlarge my cartoon for framing. So I advised the teenage attendant to cancel my order, and shred the proofs.

Story continues below advertisement

Instead, my cartoon was forwarded to security, and then to the local Sheriff.

Imagine my surprise when I received a call from a detective in the violent crimes division. The investigation was closed.

I brought my framed cartoon to a meeting with the store’s manager and security. The guard claimed that he worked in Iran during the 1970s, but was unaware of Sharia law.

Pardon my skepticism.

For the record: My interaction with Walmart (Melbourne, 8500 N. Wickham Rd, FL) and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office was August, 2015.

But were the cornerstones of Shari’a law enforced (i.e. islamic blasphemy and heresy laws)? Could I have insulted the holey prophet of islum publicly in the Shah’s Iran? Or would I have been dragged off the streets and beaten or killed by the all muslum law enforcement?

In the sixties, Iran, under the Shaw was a pro west secular nation and hundreds of Americans flocked to Iran to work in the oil fields and elsewhere. Shaw’s problem, he forgot who put him in power and thought all the money an wealth of the nation was his.

It is not up to walmart of any other self appointed custodians of person’s private business to interfere. There was no criminal activity in this request to make a copy of a couture. walmart should be hauled up in court for violation the freedom of speech that is guaranteed by the constitution.

About 4 or 5 years ago, our local Walmart had Ramadan propaganda all over the entrance of the store – big posters and other crap. People were horrified and complained. It went away and we never saw it again. They keep on testing us to see what they can get away with.

Now we have a female Muslim who is stationed at the self checkout. She’s very fat, unattractive and wears a hijab with pants, single and OVERLY pleasant. It;s a fake exaggerated pleasantness. We just ignore her.

Let me be clear I share the concern over what Walmart did to this customer — reporting him surreptitiously to law enforcement as a possible “violent” hate-crime perpetrator himself, just for wanting to get an anti-jihadi cartoon enlarged — but the First Amendment is not implicated when a private company or individual declines to assist another private individual in making copies. The Constitution only restricts GOVERNMENT interference with the guaranteed rights. The only time a privately owned “forum” may have a duty to allow someone they disagree with to express their views, is in the very limited case of shopping malls and similar privately-owned-but-open-to-the-general-public “streets” which in some communities take the functional place of the publicly-owned “main street” business district, where free speech must be permitted.

Obviously, this gentleman was able to just take his cartoon somewhere else, to get it enlarged. It’s Walmart’s right to refuse to serve any customer for any reason OTHER THAN discriminating against a customer based on the customer’s membership in a protected class — that is, Walmart cannot refuse to serve based on the customer’s race, color, religion, gender, national origin, etc. That’s not what happened here.

Mahou Shoujo
Mahou Shoujo
Reply to  Michael Jacobs

That would put them in contravention of business law as now they are using a “bait and switch” technique to attract a customer, then refusing to provide the service advertised. Unless they have a clear statement as to what they deal with, they are not following ethical business practice. If they are pro-islam, that should be mentioned at the entrance to allow customers to know the conditions of going business with them.

Good point; that is an angle I had overlooked in my original comment. I didn’t mean to imply I approve of Walmart’s conduct here, just that it was not a First Amendment violation. If the victim of this bad treatment chose to sue them, other possible causes of action may exist, which could be successfully argued by a creative attorney. The main violation of his interests I was focusing on dealt with Walmart surreptitiously reporting him to law enforcement, which I see as a much bigger deal than simply saying, “No, we decline to fulfill your request,” which any merchant has a right to do, even if they hold themselves out to the general public as performing a service or selling a product — so long as they do not discriminate for ILLEGAL reasons such as the customer’s race, color, religion, nationality, etc.

If it wasn’t prohibitory expensive, a lot of corporate bigotry would be interesting to see argued out legally. This particular instance reminds me of tales of the oldest germany, where everyone was spying on everyone else. The resulting paranoia was destructive to the entire nation.

Almost right … It’s a good post.

But Walmart is a business, and no business can refuse to serve any member of a protected class. So far so good.

But obviously the protected class here is the race, color, religion, and national origin of the anti-jihadist.

We know this is true because Walmart would not dare to refuse a cartoon mocking anything Caucasian, White (whatever that is), Christian, or American – especially if it had a sexually deviant overtone.

Had any business turned over a cartoon of Jesus offered by a Gay Activist to the police, all Heck would break loose, and the owner would be lucky to avoid bankruptcy.

While I think a business should be able to refuse any such business – so long as it applies to everyone – that’s not even remotely true of the world we live in. So long as any business has to provide their services to any odious malefactor (albeit there are a few exceptions such as child porn), dissenters should be able to employ those rules to protect their rights and force businesses to comply. This is necessary if only to expose to the double standards and keep business doors open to dissenters.

If this is not pursued, I can foresee being refused service for wearing my MAGA cap – and when Walmart feels compelled to go there, I can be sure no one else in town will dare do business with me.

To be fair to Walmart – I doubt this had anything to do with them. Our local Walmart is run by white Hispanic management, and its practically a hive of right-wingers like myself, and no one seems to mind. This is all about some drone taking his Left-wing nuttiness over the top and embarrassing Walmart. But I’m glad the customer brought the issue up.

Your wrong! Thank the ACLU (American Criminal Liberty Union) for this. They are the legal criminals of the country and should be put in jail. What other country can you get away with the aforementioned? Wake up America !!!!!!!
“Farewell to England”
This is an interesting “Farewell to England” list of Islamic accomplishments in that country that I thought might give you a better understanding of the insidiousness of Hijrah; that’s the takeover of a nation without going to war. Don’t think for a moment that America is not a target or that there are no American cities where Islamic and Sharia victories and takeovers have already occurred. It’s time for border control, or start planning for a very big goodbye America party
Here’s what has already happened to England within a few years of opening their borders without entry control:
How the British have passively succumbed to the Muslim invasion:
Mayor of London .. MUSLIM
Mayor of Birmingham .. MUSLIM
Mayor of Leeds … MUSLIM
Mayor of Blackburn … MUSLIM
Mayor of Sheffield … MUSLim
Mayor of Oxford .. MUSLIM
Mayor of Luton …. MUSLIM
Mayor of Oldham … MUSLIM
Mayor of Rochdale … MUSLIM
All the following achieved by just 4 million Muslims out of the 66 million population:
Over 3,000 Muslim Mosque
Over 130 Muslim Sharia Courts
Over 50 Muslim Sharia Councils
Muslims Only No-Go Areas Across The UK
Muslim Women.. 78% don’t work and are on FREE benefits/housing
Muslim Men… 63% don’t work and are on FREE benefits/housing
Muslim Families… 6-8 children planning to go on FREE benefits/housing and now all UK
schools are ONLY serving HALAL MEAT where a jizya tax has been paid to the muslim clerics
When you shop take note of the “HALAL” on the package, it means you are paying extra to support islam. We should boycott all such products.

Start a petition to have Islam declared a “Terrorist Organization.” Islam is a false religion, with a false god (allah), and a false prophet (mohammed)! America needs a “cleansing” of this ethic group! The spreading of this Filthy demonic, blood thirsty cult, continues, world wide, it will be met with copious amounts of bloody resistance. 3,000 human beings were slaughtered on September the 11th, 2001. Numerous others died in Paris, France, Orlando, FL, California, Las Vegas, Germany, etc. and apparently their lives did not mean anything! They were just “Sacrificial Lambs,” slain to appease the false god allah! People, this ain’t getting any better! The more of these blood thirsty bastard that enter this country, the more we are going to cease to exist as a people! They have infiltrated every aspect of our lives. The food industry is an area of concern. They have access to and are capable of mass poisonings of Americans. So be warned!

To those who think the guy has an excuse due to the open nature of Iran in the 70’s … seriously?

The Shah was accused of wasting about 20,000 enemies over the course of his reign … who do you think they were? Was he executing the Amish For A Democratic Republic of Persia? Nooo…!

The Shah’s rule was unsteady precisely because Muslim jihadis were unsatisfied with the secular state. Yes, there were those who did not like the ‘crony’ ‘capitalism’ of the Shah’s regime, but only someone completely out of touch would think it was unhappy businessmen and entrepreneurs responsible for the violence and unrest.

And let’s not forget the Shah also had a strong underground of Islamist radicals funded and armed by the then very operational Soviet Union. Between Carter’s bungling, and the Soviet support, the Muzzies were able to overthrow the Shah – and also of course his waning health was an issue as well.

If this guy was working in Iran, and he was oblivious to this … he has to be a quota quack or some hippie dude teaching ESL … who had absolutely no idea of what was going on and no idea of how dangerous the situation was.

I know this b/c I was trained by engineers – oil field and chemical engineers – who were working there at the time – and believe me they were not ‘unaware’ of anything. Their families had gone home months before the public even knew there was a crisis, and they themselves were all pulled out long before the Shah actually fell.

Just sayin’
