Joe Lieberman: Democratic Party is not anti-Jewish, but some members say anti-Semitic things

48

Really, Joe? These kinds of statements from prominent Jews are embarrassing and pathetic. Like his fellow Jewish centrist Alan Dershowitz, Joe Lieberman is either dishonest or delusional. Perhaps both. Prominent Jewish Democrats such as Lieberman and Dershowitz have not accepted that the Democrat Party is no longer the same political party that they have supported for decades. Not even close to the same.

No Jewish American with a brain or with dignity should support the Democrat Party in any way. Jewish Americans must no longer allow themselves to be played by the neo-Nazi Democrats. #Jexodus!

“Lieberman: Democratic Party is not anti-Jewish, but some members say anti-Semitic things,” by Rachel Frazin, The Hill, March 17, 2019:

Story continues below advertisement

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), who was once a Democrat, said in an interview broadcast Sunday that the Democratic Party “is not an anti-Jewish party” but that it has members who say anti-Semitic things.

“The Democratic Party is not an anti-Jewish party, but there are some people in the party now, including in Congress as we’ve seen from Congresswoman Omar…who are saying explicitly anti-Semitic things,” Lieberman, who is Jewish, said in an interview with radio host John Catsimatidis on AM 970 in New York.

Lieberman was referring to remarks from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) in recent weeks that were widely panned by lawmakers from both parties as involving anti-Semitic tropes.

Meanwhile, Democrats have pushed back in recent days on President Trump after he accused the Democratic Party earlier this month of being “anti-Jewish.”

“His comments show the president is only interested in playing the politics of division and not in fighting anti-Semitism. Mr. President, you have redefined chutzpah,” Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said last week.

Lieberman, a centrist who ran for vice president on Al Gore’s Democratic ticket in 2000, weighed in after Trump this week continued promoting a “Jexodus” or push for a “Jewish exodus” from the Democratic Party.

But when your party allows members to make anti-semitic remarks without consequences, they have become anti-Jewish Joe Lieberman. He is trying too hard to cover their aces. Putting party above country.

How can you say they did nothing, John? Didn’t Perlosi & Co pass a feel good resolution proving they are for motherhood and against sin?

Actually, they DID NOT. That resolution was pro-Islam, pro everyone EXCEPT CHRISTIANS and CONSERVATIVES. Try again.

Depends on how you define anti-Semitism. In today’s environment, what one side considers such and what the other side considers such are very different. Questioning influence isn’t anti-Semitic.

Democratic Party “is not an anti-Jewish party” but that it has members who say anti-Semitic things.

Quite right, there, Joe. And people committed to asylums are not crazy … they just say and do crazy things.

The Lolita Express – was a smear campaign used by Donald Trump in an attempt to steal a New Jersey Senate seat, even though the key figure in that is TRUMP’s own Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta.

Infanticide – still illegal in every state, since once a baby is born, killing that baby is manslaughter or murder.

I do not agree with the premise of Pam’s article. Yes, I sincerely believe that the party has among its members people who wrongly comply with a belief system (Islam) which is the anti-thesis of rightness and what America stands for, but I cannot accept accusing the Party of being anti-Semitic. Sure their agenda is hogwash and not workable for what we should expect for America, but I cannot come to the conclusion that those new reps in Congress represent the whole of the party. What I hope happens is that this nation wakes up to the danger that those believers will have on our American way of life, and that they will be punished and be replaced by more lucid person(s).

While I cannot deny the propriety of the quotes, I simply do not believe that the entire Party can be accused of being anti-Semitic. I still believe that this country retains a rightness that prevails over what I am seeing has recently been “imported” into this country, the Islamic community. Politics is all about power and greed, and when you superimpose the fact that the Democrats have gone so far left that they have fallen over and into an abyss, one can determine that to support them would be wrong, though I do not see the whole of their Party as neo-Nazi, though socialistic comes to mind..

Dennis, I’m afraid that people like Tom will never make the effort to come to terms with the even moderately nuanced expressions that you make. And that, I would say, is why Trump is POTUS.

Nice thoughts…..but overly simplistic. What was that old saying? When they came for my neighbor I said nothing….when they came for me there was no one to speak for me. ….something like that.
Of course the entire Dem party is not anti-Semitic….but neither are they speaking up against it.

Your point is well taken, but I guess that I am not ready to abandon the probability that underneath it all there remains good old common sense and decency in the majority that claim the Democratic badge. Certainly, I would expect that people will speak up, and that it is lacking in the present state of the Democratic Party because they are overly fixed on winning in 2020, but the bottom line is what they are presenting as their policy is as I have said hogwash and not workable, and they will never see a vote in their favor from me, but I believe that the whole of the Party hates the Jews who have contributed magnificently to what this country is today, is, from my perspective, a little “off the wall.”

There probably is good common sense remaining in the majority of those voting Dimm….unfortunately, they are not speaking up. And please recall….the majority of them voted for Obama who is a known hater of the Jews.

What if someone would say exactly the same thing about Nazis? That Nazis are “not anti-Jewish, but some members say anti-Semitic things”? It would be outcry today (one only hopes) but it was a historical fact that many said such a stupid thing in early 1930s.

Wow, Joe, do you honestly believe that?

There’s a long history of Jew hatred in the US. The revered FDR wouldn’t allow Jews to emigrate to the US even after the brutalities of the Hitler regime were exposed. He didn’t want them here.

Stop carrying the Dems’ water, Joe.. You don’t owe them anything. Be true to your religion.

He’s right – the party ITSELF is not antisemitic, nor are most of its members OR most of its elected officials. It is a “big tent,” and some of the coalition members on the fringe have crazy ideas — for which they are chastised, by Joe himself in this instance, by Chelsea Clinton as reported a few days ago, by Speaker Pelosi, and others.

Those on the right who want to tar the whole Democratic Party with the brush of Jew-hatred because of the outbursts of a handful of bigots — who managed to get elected in highly identity-centric districts, some on false pretenses — ought to be very careful of throwing stones in their glass house, which has on more than one occasion provided shelter and succor for various other kinds of supremacism, bigotry, prejudice, and stirring up hateful emotions. No party is perfect. Some at least TRY to recognize and overcome their prejudices.
